TENS Units

TENS units are electrotherapy machines used in the treatment of pain and pain relief for many conditions such as back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, sciatica pain and many others. They can be helpful in reducing post-operative pain medication by as much as 50%, reducing pain and swelling, and increasing mobility. While some of the TENS units we offer require a doctor's prescription, we have a wide selection of TENS units that do not require a prescription. TENS units are covered by insurance in some cases. 

TENS treatment can potentially replace other forms of treatment such as pain medication and can benefit people who are unable to or don't want to take drugs because of side effects.

The initial cost involves the purchase of the TENS machine. All of our TENS machines come with a starter kit which includes the device, lead wires, pads (also known as electrodes) and batteries. The ongoing cost is replacement of electrodes, batteries, and sometimes the lead wires.

Before starting TENS therapy it is advisable to check with your doctor. Your doctor may advise against using TENS if you have a pacemaker or you are in the first weeks of pregnancy.
